Whangee, WW2 Swagger Stick

This vintage Whangee bamboo swagger stick dates from WW2 and carries the insignia of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers.

Every vintage item has its own persona acquired from years of inflicting chastisement on reluctant flesh; some are subtle in nature, some merciless and some are gentle. This Swagger stick with its thin twisted shaft and its raised nodules along it’s length can only be describes as “spiteful”.
