SITE USER OBLIGATIONS
These terms and conditions apply to the use of and orders placed on this website. By placing an order with Sian Hoffman and The Model Traitor you will be deemed to have read, understood and abide by these terms and conditions.
The Model Traitor Goods: LEGAL
All ‘The Model Traitor’ items and restraints are not indicated for use by minors. Please keep the items out of reach of children. Additionally, www.themodeltraitor.com contains content that could be inappropriate for children. The Model Traitor declines any responsibility for any harm or damage caused by the inappropriate or incorrect use of the objects. None of The Model Traitor products are intended to be used without the appropriate health and safety knowledge on the part of the user. It is always the user’s responsibility to ensure that The Model Traitor products are not used in any way to cause harm to the user or to others or without consent.
Please do not wear or use any items with brass, nickel or metal components if you are allergic to these metals.
All customers must be 18 years or older.
The Model Traitor Signature Leather Restraints:
Leather is a natural material and is therefore subject to change from hide to hide and with daily use. Changes in the colour of the leather and signs of wear are normal. Irregularities in the consistency and depth of the colour in each of our ‘The Model Traitor’ Leather or Pony style leather restraints should not be considered a fault but inherent of the natural beauty of the leather.
Due to the special tanning process of our leathers, some colour transfer may occur. We advise you not to wear The Model Traitor leather accessories over light coloured clothing.
ORDERS
All orders are subject to acceptance and availability. The Model Traitor reserves the right to cancel orders; if this unfortunate occurrence is to arise, customers will be notified of cancellation via email shortly after the order has been placed.
If you have requested a priority order, we cannot accept any cancellations or refund.

ORDER CANCELLATION
If you change your mind or have made a mistake with a transaction, please get in touch immediately with a request to cancel your order stating your reason why to: info@themodeltraitor.com. Often orders are packed and dispatched immediately therefore we cannot cancel orders if they have already been dispatched.
If your order was for a made to order or made to measure item, we are unable to cancel this if the item has already been put into production.
As a retailer we are charged a processing fee for every transaction that is paid via the Shopify platform and Paypal. If we issue a refund to the buyer, fees from the original transaction will not be returned to us therefore if we agree to refund you for changing your mind, we will deduct the transaction fees from your refund amount. We apologise for any inconvenience.
A restocking fee of 20% will be deducted from the cost of the items if a package is returned to us because of unclaimed delivery. Postage & Packaging charges are non-refundable.
DELIVERY FEES
Delivery charges are calculated at the checkout and vary depending on products and services selected.
Standard UK delivery is £8 on most items apart from hosiery which is £3.50. Large items such as spreader bars and riding crops and high value packages are between £12.50- £20. We also offer priority courier as an option at a higher price.
International deliveries vary depending on region. Most small items are £25, £7.50 for hosiery and £35+ on large or high value items such as the Riding Crops, Girdles and Corsets. We also offer priority delivery with a courier at a higher price.
The Model Traitor reserves the right to change prices listed without notice due to the constant changes in courier fees.

We must receive payment in full before the order can be processed. Once payment has been received by us, we will confirm that your order has been accepted by sending an email to you at the email address you provide on your order form within 48 hours (not including weekends).
PACKAGING
The Model Traitor prides itself on the luxurious quality of its products as well as their presentation and packaging.
All items are wrapped in tissue paper, and some smaller items include a black magnetic gift box such as the luxury bondage collars, cuffs and bra and panty sets. Information on packaging is stated in the product description.
The packaging exterior never reveals its contents, ensuring your much-anticipated parcel arrives securely and discreet.
DELIVERY
The Model Traitor aim to dispatch all items currently in stock within 48 hours of receiving payment, excluding weekends and bank holidays. However, delivery time can vary depending on product availability. Please read item description for information on availability. UK orders for items that are in stock will take 2-5 days for delivery. International orders for items in stock can take 5-14 days.
For items made to order, please allow 2- 8 weeks. Production time varies for each product and lead time is stated in the product description. Please be aware that many of our exclusive pieces are handmade by independent artisans that may require additional time. After placing your order, you will receive an update on the delivery time by email soon after your purchase has been made and we will notify you of any delays. All Deliveries will be dispatched via registered post and will need to be signed for upon receipt. We work with various delivery services including Royal Mail, Parcelforce, FedEx, UPS and other courier companies.
Customers may request alternative delivery by private courier (extra payment required)
International deliveries will be tracked and signed for upon receipt.
Please note that during holidays (i.e. Christmas) and postal strikes; please allow longer times for dispatch. We will contact you if there is a delay.
CUSTOMS
Please note that all shipments outside the UK may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are imposed once a shipment reaches your country. As we have no control over these charges and cannot predict what they may be, additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you.
BREXIT
Customers in the EU may be subject to extra charges and delays. As the customer and importer of the goods, you are responsible for these charges. Import duties or tax costs will be invoiced to you directly from the appointed forwarder.
- Customs duties and taxes vary throughout the different European countries and we are unable to predict what these shall be. If you would like to find out more about charges specific to the country in which you reside, we advise for you to contact your local customs authority.
- We cannot accept returns if a receiver is unwilling to pay the customs charge.
- We cannot offer refunds due to the receiver being unwilling to pay the customs charge.
VAT
As of 1 July 2021, items imported to the EU with a value of €22 or less will no longer be exempt from VAT. This means that all goods sent directly from GB to consumers in the EU, will be subject to the local rate of VAT in your country.
ITEMS LOST IN POST
All our parcels are insured and tracked. On the unfortunate occurrence of a parcel being lost in the post we will be able to refund or send a replacement but please be aware that it takes approximately 30 days after the expected delivery date for the Postal service or Courier to investigate and declare the parcel lost before we can make a claim for the insurance. We will communicate directly with the buyer to settle any issues but please allow 30 days for a refund to be issued on this rare occurrence of a lost parcel.
DISCLAIMER
The Model Traitor has made every effort to display the products and colours as accurately as possible on our website. We cannot guarantee the colour you see on your monitor will 100% reflect the colour of the goods on delivery. All goods are subject to availability. If an item is out of stock before your order has been processed, we will notify you as soon as possible.
The Model Traitor reserves the right to make changes and corrections to the website whenever necessary, without advance warning.
RETURN POLICY
The Model Traitor is committed to creating exquisite experiences for each and every customer. We hope that you are delighted with your purchase, but on the unfortunate occurrence of your dissatisfaction, we will try our best to serve your needs.
If you would like to exchange or refund a purchase please contact us as soon as possible. All returns and exchanges must be made within 7 days of receipt of goods. The Model Traitor will gladly accept items for return or exchange providing they meet the following stipulations:
The item(s) must be returned in its original condition and packaging. Please take note of this when opening your purchase.
Made to order/ made to measure and special orders are final sale and cannot be accepted for return or exchange, we will happily work with you to adjust the fit.
Used items will not be accepted.
Knickers are non refundable.
Stockings are non refundable if they have been removed from the packaging. We can accept returns on stockings if they are still sealed in their packaging.
We will not accept returns of items damaged due to improper care. Please ensure that you read and follow all care instructions stated in product descriptions.
When emailing us please state your order number and reason for return. Once your email has been received you will be provided with a return address.
Please ensure that all returns are fully insured and tracked as we cannot accept responsibility for goods lost in transit. For international returns, please ensure that customs documentation is filled in correctly indicating that the item is a return. Should the item have customs charges placed on it upon arrival to the UK, we will not be able to accept it and it will be returned to you.
We currently do not cover return shipping costs - these must be borne by the customer in the instance of a return.
Shipping will only be refunded in the instance where there is a fault in the original order.
The Model Traitor will contact you within 48 hours of receiving your returns, excluding weekends, public holidays and bank holidays. If we accept your return we will offer a refund via the original payment method minus the delivery costs or an exchange will be made, in accordance with the request discussed. An email confirmation will be sent once your refund has been processed.
If we refuse a refund, we will return the item to you.
FAULTY GOODS
Please advise us of any problem as soon as possible. This can be by email, post or telephone. We would ask you to return the goods using a service where the package can be tracked. We cannot accept responsibility for goods lost in transit. We will usually arrange for a repair or exchange and also refund your additional postage costs. DATA PROTECTION
The Model Traitor guarantees that we will keep your personal information in strictest confidence. Names, email address, and any other personal information remains completely secure. The Model Traitor is compliant with the Data Protection Act. We refuse to pass on your details to any third party without your prior consent.
